I was at Staples earlier, spent $250 and used one of the printable $30/$150 coupon. When the cashier entered the coupon number, a message came up that it was an illegal coupon code and to call the manager.
Luckily he was too busy to notice.
I got the printout off FW and I thought it was legit. Apparently some of those coupons have been doctored so beware!!!!!!

Notice that some of the Staples coupon at FW are scanned. I don't think you would have had a problem if you used the legit ones everyone got in thier emails.

Most of them are legal - it's just a-holes who abuse them all the time that make the corp. office to stop allowing them. (The $10 off $10 comes to mind) And I don't know what this "call the manager" thing is - if the coupon code is illegal or invalid the system will simply not take it. (Unless you guys have a really old system) Regarding what PotHead said - that might have been it - if it was a previously used 16-digit coupon code a message might pop up saying it's illegal.
