Nostromo SpeedPad n52

I currently use the Nostromo SpeedPad n52 and I'm really pleased with it. I was thinking the other day about purchasing another one and modifying it to work with my right hand. So, I would be two at the same time.

Since this device can run in four shift modes (normal, yellow, red, and blue), I figured it might be possible to make one always run in one shift mode that's different than the other one (either by software or hardware modifications).

Does anyone know if this would be difficult to do?

Someone suggested that I just build a custom controller from scratch.

I was directed to the I-PAC which would allow me to program my own keys. The problem with this is I need to locate keys/switches and I can't. I've searched on Google and Froogle for keys, but I can only locate keyboards and replacements for the key tops.

Does anyone have any solutions for this option?
