I'm looking to buy a Nostromo 52 replacement.....something with a D pad or quality thumbstick for movement as I never did like the keyboard much in FPShooters. The mouse is best for aiming. The new Razer Nostromo seems to get lackluster reviews so have looked at other options.

I've narrowed it down to two choices.

This Aimon PS elite for the PC.

Or a combo of the Xbox 360 controller for windows
and a Razer Deathadder 3500 High Precision gaming mouse.

Which one would give me the best performance and be the easiest to use in games?
My guess would be that the Xbox 360 and Razer would give the best results but not using either setup don't know. Also thinking that the software program Xpadder would need to be used with the Xbox controller.

The thumbstick on the Logitech G13 isn't usable for movement IMO. It's too horizontal, so your thumb can't control it properly. You have to manipulate it with the edge of your thumb.

Just picked up the Aimon PS elite for the PC. Very good controller for FPSs. Beats the Nostromo 52 in movement as the joystick is very smooth. The only drawback I see so far is no macros (if you need them) and software is a little flakey under Windows 7 64 bit.....but didn't have any trouble assigning the keys to the device for the games I play and has enough buttons on the mouse and wand controller for good gameplay.

They just posted new software for the Aimon PS Elite. A new driver and setup software. I still cannot get the setup software to update the firmware. Anybody else having luck getting it updated?

I replaced my N52 with a Logitech G13.

i did that too except i went back to the N52. well actually i got the Razor version of it.
I really disliked the G13 in comparison. the N52 is like putting on a well broken in leather glove vs a Nintendo powerglove :D
