Damn, i wished they would've waited till next week when they play the Cowboys. That way the Cowboys could've whooped his butt and sent him on his way to the unemployment line!!:)

Have they announced who will take his place?

Dallas just needs to disappear....stick a fork in Aikman...he is done...

they should have let the season end, THEN fire him. I don't think that this was the best time to get rid of a coach. Oh well, i guess Snyder couldn't take it anymore....

Seeing as Dallas needs a quaterback among other things, i hope they beat the redskins and lose the rest of their games so we can get a high draft pick. The rest of the sucky teams already have a young quaterback, so can you say, welcome to Dallas Drew Brees!:)

why should they have let the season end? he knew he was leaving, the players knew he was leaving, the owner knew he was leaving-that's the definition of "lame duck". the 'skins need a shock to start playing well again

CrumCake,

You can forget Dallas getting a high draft pick unless they trade for one. They gave up this years first round pick to get Galloway. The biggest problem with Dallas this year is injuries. I have never seen one team with so many injuries. During the off season they need to pick up a QB as well as some new defensive lineman. They have already had three RB gain over 200 yds against them this year.

If the 'Skins had a decent kicking game, we wouldn't be here. Folks here in DC would be making late January plans as the America's *real* team steadily broke open cans-o-whuppass at FedEx.

I think the joe Gibbs era has truly spolied us ... for life!

as I mentioned in the thread stating that the giants won, most of the 'skins money went towards defense, and that has improved a lot. they merely neglected to sign a #@$$%$##$ kicker. guess they forgot the lesson they should have learned last year, that kicking DOES win/lose games.

as for turner, it wasnt the lack of a kicker that got him fired-it was too many close games that shouldnt have been close. in 7 years, the team showed very little ability to win the games they were supposed to win without making them waaaay too interesting. at that point, not having a good kicker recently is why they lost those games that shouldnt have been close, drawing attention to turner's poor motivational skills.

TRP:

Hey, we agree on something! Snyder tried to buy his way to a superbowl. I'm glad money can't buy everything, for he now has egg on his face.

No negatives to the folks in DC. It's not your fault a rich dork made your team look bad. From the beginning of his spending spree, people were wondering whether a bunch of great individual players like that could form a team... and they didn't.

Fill a team with Prima-donnas, and that's what you get.

Of course, I hate Dallas too. Any team were deion sanders played/plays immediately gets my animosity. He should go back to the "hood".

I think Turner would rather NOT be head coach, expecially with Snyder as the owner.

And dont feel sorry, he still gets $1 million pay for the full year :p

I still think Aikman has talent. He hasn't had consistant receivers the last few years b/c of injuries. He is one of histories most accurate passers. WRs with little experience DO NOT run very good routes which is what that system requires. Its a timing based passing system. If Aikman had Galloway and Rocket all year and performed this bad, that would be a different story.

Dallas does need serious help on D though!

No disrespect, seriously, but ...

Aikman = Soup 4 Brains

Maybe he should start making Coors Light commercials with Joe and Steve.

The reason the Skins and Boys are both tanking this year is their owners. Jones and Snyder interfere WAY too much, and both need to hire able GM's to add their football knowledge to the daily operations.

Talking about former Cowboys assistant coaches... Norv is one of those guys who is a GREAT coordinator, mediocre head coach. He does not quite have enough kick em in the ass attitude to be a great head coach. By contrast, Dave Wanstedt is having much more success this year in Miami because he is a bit more of a disciplinarian.

Dallas has problems with both of its lines. The top 3 starters at DT (Spellman, Lett, and Hennings) are gone and the two starting at DT now are both undersized, which is why Dallas gives up so much in the running game. Against the pass, they are more than adequate. The O-line has problems protecting against the blitz (getting better) and with penalties (E Williams). Dallas needs to draft some good lineman first to 1) stop the run and 2) protect Aikman in the pocket because he is not a runner. Then we can draft a good QB next season when we have a high draft pick. This year we are missing our #1 because of Galloway, and wouldn't you know it he is on the disabled list.

Dallas needs to steadily get rid of the older guys and rebuild through the draft. Jerry Jones is a SUCK GM.
