Norton is a system hog compared to some of the others, used about 35 mb just for the antivirus, when i used to run it before switching to antivir

Yeah, uses about 30-40MB for me, but worth it - stopped like a dozen hacker attacks and virii already...

the Symantec Antivirus uses alot less resources then NAV2004 and does a decent job IMHO.

Norton uses minimal resources. Don't listen to those who tell you otherwise because they don't know what they are talking about.

It's "viruses" :)

I have Norton Anti-Virus Corp. Ed. and it can't use more than 2MB of resources unless I'm doing a scan or something.

mcafee opens up like 10 active processes. check your task manager and try to find out what they are. there are so many opened by mcafee

but i messed up an installation so i can't re-install norton (the enterprise version), and AVG doesn't do it for me

damn those bastards at symantec

i uninstalled all the norton stuff that came with this brand new dell laptop and i swear this thing runs 300% faster

1.5A Pentium M (centrino )

IMO norton is as bad or worse than any spyware out there

i use free firewall and free virus scanner. well ... they are both very good and dont use resources much
