I know of two people now that have bought new Norton discs on ebay and when they install them the date says it is old. They were sealed and never used. The old norton was uninstalled like it was supposed to be but it still did not work. This worries me because I need it next month and don't want to have to pay the 30 bucks for a renewal. I have been buying it on ebay for 4 years now and nothing like this has ever happened. Help! They had 2004 and installed a new 2004 disc.

I hate to say this, but i & many others here hate Norton, since there are so many good freeware alternatives that are less resource-hogging.

I used to use Norton, but i've since discovered AntiVir & AVG & much prefer them.
I recently got Systemworks Premier for free from a work thing & installed it just to use Ghost, & i remembered why i hate Norton stuff so much.

Unless there's a good reason you have to use Norton, i would say save your money & go with a less intrusive AV program.

/merely my $0.02

Yes, but they don't require as much memory to run smoothly & effectively, & best of all they are free :)

That being said, if you like Norton, i cannot say it is not a thorough program, that's for sure :)

I have Norton 2003 and recently got an upgrade offer from Symantec to upgrade to 2005 for $39. Then I read the reviews and complaints from people trying to upgrade. It was pretty shocking to see how many people are pissed because the thing doesn't install properly. So I decided to skip it.
