When you install 2003 or 2004 (never had NSW before that) Norton System Works (NSW) a program/service called Norton Proctected Recycle Bin is installed. What exactly does this thing do except allow you to perform an undelete?

I mean the basic recycle bin is just bad enough. When I delete something I want to be deleted (And I do not like using Shift + Del), if I didn't then the recycle bin allows me to restore it. I just find a doulbe redundancy to be strange.

Or am I missing the point of this app/service?

All I know is I have to do an "empty norton protected recycle bin" once in a while, cause those files stack up.

I have my Recycle Bin as the default Recycle Bin when you double click it, so I barely know this Protection stuff is there.

Yeah I've never understood the use of a recycle bin for a recycle bin. I always disabled the feature, or better yet, stopped using norton utilities altogether. You can perform most (if not all) of the tweaks it does yourself for free, plus you'll learn something from the experience.

That is true, but I find that Norton can keep the Registry pretty tidy. I love the One-Button Checkup. Is there a solution out there that I don't know about for that?
