Just wondering...
For anyone that has Norton Speed Disk, could you try this out.
Run Norton SpeedDisk. While it's defragging (past the optimizing folders stage), try opening up Windows Explorer (or anything else for that matter).
I've tried this on multiple Win98 machines and it crashes the system hard every time (blue screen: giving SD32.exe (speed disk .exe) error, or system has become busy/unstable error)
I don't remember this occurring when I was using Win95. The only thing that might have happened is a restart due to a write detection.
