Hope u guys can share some info on HT when we use Norton Systemworks (NSW) espcially during speed disk.

Will it help to defrag faster?

I don't think that there are any Norton products that are multi-CPU aware. The only way it may help is allowing two processes to use the CPU simultaneously. I doubt there will be a significant (if any) difference, as defrag is also limeted by the hard drive speed.

No, defragmentation is a I/O bound process, not a CPU bound one.

great info guys....i appreciate it..

BTW is there anything i should do when i defrag my pc....i meant closing all the programs running background and anvirus scanners....what else do i need to do? some programs when i ctrl+Alt+Del i m not sure which to end task it....

Are you on 9x or NT/2k/XP? If the former, yea, kill about everything. If the latter, don't bother, you don't need to.
