Norton System Works question

I just installed Norton System Works & Now when my pc shuts down, it checks the floppy drive first.

My best guess is this is something that Norton Anti Virus does, somehow I kinda remember reading that b4 somewhere.
But I cant be exactly sure cuz I installed all the programs at once.

Question?
Is this part of Nortons Virus protection or a bug in the software?

If it is part of the anti virus procedure, I'm afraid I fail realize the purpose of checking the floppy drive B4 shutdown.

Can anyone offer some insight here?

It is Norton Antivirus that does that. I forget why it does it also. Used to know..sorry.

go to options in NAV> click on auto protect> Advanced>uncheck floppy check. Yes i know it gets majorly anoying
