This is for a friend of a friend. He is a really nice old man, but he didnt listen to me when I said DO NOT install anti-virus software. Now he got the old sircam virus, and Norton wont let him boot into windows. He asked me to help him, but I do not think there is a way around norton. If I could get to windows to uninstall norton and delete the sircam virus online, it would be awesome. He does not want to lose his old windows. Any help from you guys would be awesome.

He cannot boot into windows, norton intercepts it.

safe mode maybe? Or a DOS bootdisk for win9x?

EDIT: Why is installing anti-virus software bad? If used properly it should have prevented this from happening.

download the sircam repair tool from norton. boot into safe mode (i've done it with this virus, with norton. i know it's possible). run the tool, remove the virus. you can put it on a floppy to get it on the infected machine. antivirus is a GOOD thing if properly updated and configured, not a bad thing.
