I had the Norton Anti-Virus Corporate Edition running on my machine.

I told it to not scan my computer and just let SETI run in peace.

IT LIED!@#$%@$#! :|

It left rtvscan.exe running in the back ground.

I just uninstalled Norton and my SETI times doubled.

Is there a friendlier way to deal with this problem?

You can't run Norton AV Personal Edition, can you?

It plays much, MUCH, nicer with SETI.

We are running Norton Coporate Edition A/V, server managed, and I haven't noticed much of an impact at all. 1 PC is running WIN95, the others Win2KPro.

I run Norton 2002 at home without any problems. At work I'm using our corporate client, myCIO (McAfee).

I run 7.5 managed at work. It plays well with all of my systems except my one ME box. (I hate ME!)
