Norton Internet Security problems

The firewall has stopped working, it allows programs (just installed) to access the net, without asking for permission. And yes, the alarms is activated and so is the firewall. Only thing I did, was to deactivate the firewall while upgrading sound card drivers and then reboot the pc. After reboot I install Jedi Knight II, go to multiplayer and refresh the list and I wonder why the firewall don't ask for permission to create a rule.

I have had this problem before, tech support were not very helpful, they actually sent me an answer to an entirely different question...lol...Last time I uninstalled, used the rnis (can't remember the name ?) removal utility and then installed and it worked fine. But it is so boring and I would have to download all the updates again.

JZilla, have you try going into the firewall settings , on Internet access control and start playing around with your settings?

That's the funny thing. I haven't changed any settings, it just stops working. Installed JKII, going to find a server, expecting the firewall to pop up, which it didn't and then thinking oh no again. So it can't be the settings.

Forgot to mention it's the 2002 version. Another funny thing is if I want to delete some of the rules, not the rules for programs, but the basic rules (hope you are catching my drift, I am using the danish version), then the firewall freezes.

Maybe I should invest in a upgrade.

And don't suggest ZoneAlarm or Tiny or whatever they are called, I really like Norton apps and have been using NIS for almost 4 years and never had any problems, except this.
