Alright, well I'm posting this for my cousin who just called me sounding very distressed.
He got this program, Norton Internet Security 2003, packaged with World of Warcraft, and installed it using the admin account on a Windows XP Pro system.
After installing it, he tried going to the internet and found he no longer had access. He figured out it was this program. He tried to use it to set some preferences or options or anything, just to be able to get back on the internet, nothing, does not have the correct permssions.
Trying to uninstall yields him the message: "A norton internet security account with supervisor access must be logged in to uninstall this product." Thats great, cause he can't access any user options or anything within the program.
I had him try booting in safe mode to get rid of it, doesn't work.
They have an internet connection for sure, I had them release and renew through ipconfig, they can ping their mail servers and other various servers, they just have no way of actually getting to it.
Symantecs only answer through their site was to run this RNavXXXX.exe program, but you have to download it to run it! #!%&$^@
Any ideas here guys?
Thanks!
