norton help

when I try to install norton anti-virus(version 5.0) I get this message. "a read only file, c\win...\msvcp50.dll, was found while attempting to copy files to the desination location. To overide this file click the ok button, otherwise click the no button" I'm just wondering if it would do any weird things to my computer if I said yes? I couldn't find anything on nortons website about this error message.

What OS are you on? NAV 5.0 is kinda ancient and depending on what version of Windows you are using will depend on the error.

Have you checked the Symantec Knowledge Base? I didn't see anything on this error, but you may.

Best resolution to me would be to purchase or to "get" a copy of 2001.
