Hi,
I've tried Norton Ghost 2003 not too long ago, and I was impressed with the results. The method of my preference was to boot from NG2003 CD, then enter the ghost interface to backup/restore full OS partitions, to recover in a crisis situation. That's the common usage for this software, AFAIK.
But now I heard about the new version, Norton Ghost 9, which I gave a quick look yesterday ... at first (and quick look), it doesn't seem to have that same bootable user interface to backup/restore ...
I prefer that boot method, because that way I have absolutely sure that my OS isn't messing with anything on my disk, and so the backup info is 100% coerent. Now if NG9 doesnt' have that "feature", how come will it work well when making a partition backup on-the-fly? Will it be safe, or did I just looked the CD contents on the wrong direction?
