In my next upgrade, I'm going to be doing a Raid 0 setup with 2 20gb drives. I will also be doing a mod where I put LEDS and glass on my old 1gb drive so it looks really cool through the window on the side of my case. That being said, theres 3 drives already. Since it will be Raid 0, I will want to be keeping backups regularly incase something happens to it. I have a 60gig WD 5400rpm drive which I can use. Since I don't want to put in a 4th hard drive in my computer, I'm looking for an alternative solution for backing my things up.
Anyways, I can set it up with a 40gig partition and have it attached to the network. Using Norton Ghost, how would I go about backing things up from it? This would be attached on a 433mhz computer which we won't be using anymore since that is the server and when I upgrade, the parts move down to chain to my brother, his to the server, and then left overs. I've tried looking but I'm not able to find it. I do see a Peer to Peer option but where do I access the network drives? Should I map them or something?
Is there some kind of way I can put my 60gig drive in an external case and use it through USB 2.0? I am willing for anything but I need a way to backup my Raid setup without having to have the drive in my case. Oh, and I'll want to be making a backup of everything atleast, once every day or every 2 days because I'll regret having a month old copy when the setup does fail, is there any software to help me with this?
I am willing to buy some other software as long as it will get the job done right without hassle and if I can do something so that it automatically backs up everything to the specified drive every other day or maybe every night.
