basically, what I want to do is make an image of a drive to cd (or span a few, or dvd even). From what I understand, I can do this easily w/ ghost.

now, to restore it, is there any way to have the first cd of the image bootable, load up ghost w/ preset parameters, and let it fly? basically, the idea is to bypass the floppy.

other than ghost, is there anything else I could use to accomplish what i want? freeware is always better :)

thanks

When you're about to create the image, Ghost will ask you if you want to make the CD bootable. If you do, it'll copy the files from the floppy over to the CD and you can bypass the floppy that way. All you need to run Ghost is the Ghost boot disk...but I didn't say anything

what I realy like about the tutorial is all the markers that let you skip head. :)

Don't let the nice windows interface fool you, Norton Ghost still needs to boot into DOS to operate, unlike Drive Image which can totally run from Windows.

Ghost just saved my butt AGAIN! Went to bed last night computer working ok. This morning blank screen! Would not enter Win XP PRO even in safe mode! Tried XP repair a NO GO. Just poped my Ghost boot disk in and restored from CD-R Image in less than a hour. The 2003 version is even better and easier than the 2002 version. I highly recomend Ghost!
