ok, i'm trying to not get upset on this thing.

i bought a systemworks oem to get the ghost program. i installed it a few weeks ago but everytime i install it i get a "the install wizard was interrupted before it could finish. your system has not been changed. please retry later." message.

it always happens as the status says "removing back up folders" or something, i mean it's almost done, then i get the message. then ghost icon appears in my task bar and the program seems to function correctly.

however, the only time i used it, either i or it fubared my system badly. the program basicall just died in the middle of creating an image during restart.

i tried cleaning the disc and it's not scratched. i had this problem with an oem nero disc once but just tossed that out anyway because i had another.

is this just a bad disc or do i have to install all of system works or something? if the install made it all the way to "removing back up files/folders" wouldn't the install be basically sound?

edit - since the original attempts i did a fresh install of windows xp2 yesterday and just tried to use ghost again and get the same message.
