Norton Ghost HELP!!!!

quick question... I have norton ghost... I have two drives... can i ghost my drive with my operating system (win98) and then format that drive?... and then image the whole drive back?... how so if i format the drive with my operating sys... how do I get my computer going again?...

That is precisely what Ghost is used for!!

As long as your image is on a seperate drive or partition, Ghost will take care of the rest. Do not format the drive or partition that has the .GHO file!

ok.. um.. so let's say i do it... i have the .GHO file on my second drive or burned it on a cd... how do I restore?... my comp will not boot up

First of all, you should be making your images (burn and write) using the "Ghost Boot Disk" method. Starting the PC with the Ghost floppy in the A:\ drive. When you create an image, you first need to chose the source(your Win98 install) then it asks you for the destination the empty drive or partition).

Once you have the .GHO image of your OS saved, this is now considered the source. In your case your source file is where the .GHO is located, then your destination will be the newly formatted empty drive. Essentially it's the opposite of creating an image...
