Norton Ghost 6.5 question

I recently aquired a copy of norton ghost 6.5 and I have a question about it. I know you can span your HD across multiple CDs so you can restore using those CDs and a floppy disc. I like the idea of this option, but my HD is filling up quickly and I really dont have the need to restore all of the stuff on there. I really would just like to be able to restore my windows system folder so that I can have a clean copy of windows98 installed and ready to run should I need to recover. The reason for this is because I had alot of trouble getting all of my drivers and so on to take and I dont feel like going through all of it again. Any ideas?
thanks,

The part of Ghost that installs into Windows includes Ghost Explorer. This will allow you to examine image files and restore individual files and directories rather than the whole partition or disk.

But - to do it you need to be in Windows so you wont be able to overwrite the \Windows directory you're currently using.

I would do this:

In Windows, restore the \Windows directory using Ghost Explorer, but stick it in another folder somewhere.

Boot off a floppy into DOS and delete the current \Windows directory. Rename the newly restored version to \Windows and you should be OK.

The best thing is to put only windows on one partition and make separate partitions for programs /data etc..So you can ghost the windows partition and restore it. I normally only image the windows and programs partition.
