Norton Ghost 6.03

I have a 45 gig HD with about 3 gigs on the drive. I want to back up the stuff on the drive with ghost, does it just back up the 3 gigs used or does it backup the intire empty space also, I really dont want to have to partition the drive and dont want to back up a bunch of empty space. I want to back up directly to a CD.

I've never used that version but I've used several others and none of them back up the empty space if you are going to an image file. Just the data. I have a 20G partition that is not very full and have no problem backing it up to a 5G drive with any versions I've tried.

However, if you do a drive to drive copy I believe it will give you an error that the destination drive is too small.
