Norton Ghost 6.0 --> 7.0 ..huge speed increase..WHY?

3gig image used to take 16min (Ghost 6.01, 188mb/sec)
It now takes 7min (Ghost 7.0, 530mb/sec)

Anyone know what they did to the .exe to make it run so much faster?
