16 + $4.97 - $20 rebate = $0.97

Otherwise, if you don't have a previous version it's $20.97 since you won't be able to use the rebate.

Careful - your link refers to ghost 2003 which as improved windows capabilities.

Ghost 2002 is a dos based disk cloning program. It's actually very simple: You create a ghost boot disk which boots from fdd into dos and then starts the ghost application. Ther application itself then can see and copy any drive in it's entirety to an image file or to another disk. So if you upgrade from say a 20GB drive to say an 80GB drive (that you bought on a sale you found here). You can use ghost to transfer the entire contents of the 20GB disk onto the 80 GB disk, You computer may notice that on the hardware level you are now using a new HDD but otherwise the file sturctures and everything remain intact and the new disk should behave just like the old one but with more free space. Obviously there are other applications for this proggy as well (e.g. full back-ups or cloning of identical drives).

Worth every penny even at retail

Some say 2002 is better than 2003, but I haven't tried 2003 so I can't really comment...

I forget which, but either pcworld or pcmag said ghost 2003 is not for your average user, even 'tho it's supposed to be more 'intuitive'. they reported more problems using it, etc. than w/ ghost 2002. fwiw.

Does this version of Ghost handle drives and partitions formated with NTFS well? Also just what does it do that the freeware programs DrvImageXP and DrvCloneXP can't do?

Ghost works with NTFS. The biggest difference is that Ghost can clone/restore images in DOS. This is obviously useful if you can't boot into Windows. It also supports images spanning multiple CDs/DVDs.

Yup, works fine. Just make a bootdisk, and shutdown the computer. Set your drive to master and put the drive going to be cloned to slave. Turn the computer on and boot into DOS. Write down the Produt ID. Then I believe its Drive - Local - Local. Select the drive you want to clone then select the destination. If you're cloning your boot drive, turn the computer off when cloning is complete and swap out the old for the new. Turn on the computer and everything should be perfect. We used it at work to backup everyones drive before their computer upgrade. Excellent software...
