Norton Disk Doctor 2003 - how can I abort a scheduled disk check at reboot?

I went and scheduled a disk check, apparently, in WinXP, because it can't scan the C: while Windows is running on it. So it does it at reboot. Thing is, sometimes it'll ask you, "press any key to cancel 10...9...8......." - if you cancel, it obeys. But most of the time, that option never comes up, and it just goes right ahead with the disk scan. If you reboot in the middle of the scan, it just does it again, no way to abort.
Is there some key combination to press to cancel it? It's a 120GB hard drive, and dammit, Norton insists on scanning the ENTIRE thing. Because I told it to, and then forgot that I did.
