Well, not specifically with this program but my Norton SystemWorks (Antivirue, firewall, goback and ghost in 1 package) has really screwed with skype and ther programs in the past. I am on my 3rd Hauppauge PVR 150 and I am either going to fix this or give up on TV on my PC forever. I am running:
2.4ghz P4 w/HT
2gig PC3500
Radeon 6800
I have tried everything to fix this dang TV program. What happens is it glitches a good bit while I watch then all of a sudden the video and sound freeze. I switch channels, then switch back and it starts working again. I have no problems with WoW, Company of Heroes, CS or anything else. I have used chkdsk to scan for errors. I am running the latest drivers for my video card and windows is 100% up to date. The only problems I can boil it down to are:
1) 2.59gig left on my Windows SP2 partition. (New HDD coming tuesday to remidy this, I know it's a problem anyways)
2) Some other software glitch.
Since the program doesn't create a buffer that I can find on my C partition I assume it's not HDD space. I mean, it's possible but if it created some sort of buffer that grew and grew eventually it would freeze up on everyone and I know a few others with this card that have no issues at all.
Previously I have uninstalled Norton and programs "magically" work again. A few years back I went to McAfee and skype "magically" didn't mess up every time I tried to use video. I may try uninstalling systemworks tomorrow but that seems pretty dang extreme just to get the video running.
Anyone have suggestions here?
I called Hauppauge tech support and the guy said it sounded like the tuner was freezing and I should replace the card. The problem is I am on my 3rd card and either they are all bad or it's another issue. The only other comp I have to try the card in doesn't have a compatable OS.
So yeah, any suggestions welcomed.
EDIT: After some google searching I came across a webpage saying that WinDVD can cause problems with hauppauge tuners, has anyone heard of anything like this?
