Do Norton send out emails if a virus is found in an outgoing email? I received an email fron norton 'africa virus gateway' telling me an email that was supposedly sent from my address included the sobig virus. I ran the removal program from norton and nothing was found on my system. any ideas?

This has been addressed on the Symantec Security Response site, under Technical Details for W32.Sobig.f@mm, titled "Email Spoofing". The virus mails itself with a header from a random person in the infected computer's address book. All the e-mail indicates is that someone who knows you got the virus.
 
Someone who had you in their address book probably was infected and it sent out emails using your email in the From field. Any rejected emails gets bounced back to you. Same thing is happening to me.
