Norton AV cannot scan my HD while my FTP server is running - workaround?

I am using GuildFTP as my FTP Client. I have tried to have Norton AV run a scan everyday automatically at 0900.

Norton will scan the other drives in that box, but gives me an error message "cannot scan drive H; in use by a disk utility."

Well, there's no "disk utility" running...the only thing running on that box is the FTP Client and FreePing/Norton AV/WinVNC. The last three have nothing to do with the disk subsystem.

Is there a workaround? It sucks having to shut down my FTP just to run a scan on it...which I WILL continue to do. Any drive open to the public must be scanned at least once a day!

Help. :(

Why does GuildFTP suck? It's the first and only FTP client I've ever used. It has tons of options and controls that I haven't even played w/yet, it does what it's supposed to do; be an FTP client.

When the server is up but nobody is connected, it takes up 0% CPU time, etc. What sucks about it?

Oh, sorry...it was very late and I'd been up for 21 hours already. :( It's a server. GuildFTP. I didn't know that it locked the drive...but I guess I know now, huh?

This isn't good; I want to run an antivirus scan automatically on that drive. There's gotta be a workaround...maybe something in the registry?
