Norton Antivirus Won't Scan!

First, let me start off by saying this. I do not need recommendations for a new antivirus program...this is what this computer is using. Period.

Ok anyways, I've got this computer in the shop that just refuses to run the NAV scan. It says "Full System Scan Not Completed" and when you hit Scan Now, it gives you the hourglass, then goes back to the cursor and doesn't do anything. It updates and everything perfectly fine too. I installed NAV2005 over the old NAV2003 also. I scan the system on another one of our systems and it comes out fine so I KNOW there's not any viruses on the system, however, in it's own machine, it refuses to scan and I do not know why.

Please help.

I had a virus once that did that on a computer. It would not allow itself to get cleaned. I cleaned to remotely using a networked computewr and then it ran fine.

Yep! That is a good indication that the system is already infected with a virus or trojan that prevents NAV from working.

The LAN would work. Have you tried booting with the NAV CD and trying from there?
