Title and summary pretty much sums it up. I have 2003, and Best Buy has 2004 on sale this week for $10 after rebates. It says it requires previous proof of ownership... what do you need for that? Cause I bought my 2003 on eBay and it was just the disc in a paper sleeve, no documentation at all.

For owners of any previous stand alone, retail (boxed or downloaded) version of any Norton, Symantec or McAfee software product. Products pre-installed or supplied by a manufacturer (OEM) do not qualify. Mail-in Rebate offer is valid for a USA and Canadian address Only. Rebate form included in the product box. Limit one rebate per name, address, household or company. Rebate request must be postmarked by 1/31/05. Proof of ownership is required - either the previous product's original CD diskette 1, title page of manual, or your confirmation e-mail from your previous download purchase.

You bought an OEM copy therefore it does not qualify for the rebate.

I see... what WOULD be required if I had a retail copy? (BTW... the disc doesn't say it's "only for distribution with new computers" or "bundled software: not to be sold seaparately from approved product" or whatever other statement is on OEM software)
