Norton Antivirus 2004

Hi,
does the whole software Norton Antivirus 2004 makes my PC very slow or only the Auto-Protect option?

I wouldn't know if it makes YOUR PC slow but it I'll take your word for it. But yea, running AutoProtect does make things a tad slower.

I finally dumped NAV 2004, even though I had 11 months left on my virus subscription service. It was slowing down my system, and got even worse after I installed SP2 for windows. I had it running without autoprotect, and without many other options. Even with its automatic update and scheduling features turned off, LU1COMS~.EXE (or something close) kept popping up.

In my opinion, NAV is probably exellent at virus detection and I've been using Norton/Symantec products since my 386 DOS days, but its overhead was getting too much for my tastes.

Norton Interbet Security 2005 uses up 28-32 megs of your ram about. So - I think it depends on how well your memory is. I using a gig on system with Norton Internet Security 2005. I haven't noticed anything - except it does slow down the start-up. There have been a couple of quirks that I needed to stop it - but other than that I like it.
