Norton AntiVirus 2001 Problem!!!!!!

Occasionaly when Windows starts it seems to hault when it starts to load the icons on the taskbar or the bar on the bottom of screen (not the desktop).

It appears to be Norton AntiVirus because when i go into safe mode and disable NAV protect on startup it works fine.

Is their a remedy or should i not use Norton at all.

Skylynx, what OS are you running? I recall reading recently that there's a problem w/ NAV2001 w/ Win9x. Norton is indicating that 2001 was written for Win2000.

there's an option to scan memory at startup, it does this in the background it's not a problem.
