Norton Anti Virus 5.0 Slows to a snail's pace on certain files!?!?

Norton Anti Virus 5.0 Slows to a snail's pace when scanning certain files. OS is Win 98SE, Norton AV 5.0 w/ latest updates. It scans great til it gets to Sierra's Swat 3 data files, then it just crawls. It's been running for an hour and it is only 90% complete. Wassup w/ this??

Check the symantec web site -- I often find problems are covered there, and if not they do a pretty good job of answering Qs that you post.

You may want to exclude certain file types from the search. I would think there is very little virus risk from some kind of data file, but I suppose I could be wrong.
