No kidding! The BEST thing about the DOD is FREE SHIPPING! :) BTW, they have been doing a lot of free shipping days lately... are there any more coming up?

Don't mean to be a complainer... just some of the dotd's are... well rather lame....

Not a very good deal... paid $35+tax for System Works (Norton Util/Antivirus/CleanSweep) 2001 on Saturday at the Sam's club here locally....

You couldn't pay me to put anything Norton on my computer. Hogs resources and if you want to get rid of it entirely you just about have to reformat your hard drive to do so. Get "Inoculate It" for free from Computer Associates. They update it regularly, like four times a week, depending on new virus threats. Doesn't hog resources.

Sam's has NAV 2001 for $19.99, but the box says you only get free updates for 6 months. I think the normal version comes with free updates for 1 year, but I could be wrong. I guess you get what you pay for.

They also had System Works for $49.99, but it has a $15.00 rebate. I think it was mail in. But I don't know what good the extra bundled software really is. The anti-virus is what most people use and want.

I had the same problem with McAfee- hogs resources, impossible to get rid of(had to do a reformat)and in general had lots of small annoying problems. I have been using Norton for almost a year, and swear by it. It defrags a drive in 1/2 the time of McAfee, and the Windows repair utility works well. Guess it just comes down to your system, and what kind of luck you have with a particular piece of software.

I use Norton and agree it is much better than Mcaffee which it what we use at work.

BTW - I just purchase Norton System Works 2000 Professionial for total of $18.00.
It includes Ghost that I used to switch my primary and secondary drives around, worked great (can't say the same for Windows 98).
