I am still using an updated version of 2002 on my desktop. Is the 06 version worth going to? I have a laptop that has 2005 on it and I don't like it as well as the 2002.

You'd probably get better protection features with 2006, but if it is a resource hog like 2005, you'd likely be disappointed.

There was an effort to lower the footprint in 06 (definately more to do, but definately better than 05)..

Definitely not worth it. Switch to NOD32 FTW

Just about any anti-virus would be better then Norton. If you want free, get avast!

I concur. Even if you get it for free I'd advise against loading it. It's pure bloatware, and there are better alternatives.

[*]If you want to pay for the best A/V look at Kaspersky & Nod32.
[*]If you want free w/ decent protection then Antivir, AVG, and Avast come to mind.

Thanks for the replies guys and gals. I found a good deal on a three user pac at Buy.com for $14.99 after rebate and bought it. I was wrong about the laptop(that my wife uses anyway), it was a 2004.
I think a lot has to do with how much time you put into learning all of the in's and out's of any virus program. The 2002 I have used has worked perfect for three years but I did spend a lot of time getting it right. I sure do hope it (2006) is not chamges too much from 2002. Just added protection that can be set to work automatic!!!

I agree - a resource hog to the max. Better off getting AVG free or some other free anti virus - IMHO

standalone NAV 2005 is a resource hog? I did not even notice it but I can see it give me a problem with installation repair error message every boot time.
