Norton 2004 AntiVirus removal???

This is on a Dell laptop--XP/w SP2 installed. It let me remove "Norton AntiVirus 2004" with add and remove programs but I still have "Norton WMI update and Live Reg (Symantec Corp)" that I can't remove with add & remove.

I have a new 12 month CD with good product key but system won"t install it. I get messages indicating that Norton 2004 is still on it.

Anybody have the answer???????

there's a program called symnrt that will manually remove all norton 2004/2005 files and registry entries, should be able to find it on symantec's web site.
