everybody seems to be going ddr, and most have been getting their FSB up super high.

in some other threads I know i said i was going AMD (mainly cause i got a spare chip lying around), but a have another month before i finalize this rig i'm building.

i know ddr can get up there but how high can rambus go?

anyone with rdram care to post there overclocks?

Well, if you get a quality mobo, like the TH7II, then you can always turn your memory down to 3X and go up from there. I can run mine at 520mhz, it can't do 533mhz, but most genuine Samsung can. I have Corsair with Samsung chips.

So at 2.667, I run the memory at default speed of 400mhz.

I have a 1.8A @ 2.4GHz with a pair of 256MBdouble sided(16 chip) Samsung sticks. The ram runs at 533 with 4x and turbo enabled just fine.

Jumpem, does your P4T-E have the clock generator that can hit 133MHz? (I can't remember it's name)

I've built three different systems that consisted of p4 1.6a, Abit TH7II, and RDRAM. Two were built with Samsung and one was Corsair. The ones with Samsung would reach 2133 @ 1.60 (or less) core voltage. The one with the Corsair would only hit 2133 (@ 1.60 v) with the memory @ 3x; the others were @ 4x. The Samsung was 8 device and the Corsair was 4 device. All had 256 MB (two sticks) installed. I have no idea what the upper limit on these systems are as I was shooting for an easy OC with stock HSF.

That kind of confirms why my Corsair can't do 533:( There is always at least one bad decision in building a system. I wish I got pure Samsung.

jbond04, my P4T-E has the ICS chips that are rated to work up to 600mhz. I got it from Atacom if you're interested.
