In order to get the benefits of the northwood processor, do i need a motherboard with northwood as well, or not so much? Assume that the motherboard and processor are otherwise compatible. Let me know.
 
Ummm.....First of all there are no motherboards with Northwood. Northwood is the name of the core of the Pentium 4 processor.

I assume by "benefits of the northwood processor" you are referring to its overclocking ability. You will need a motherboard that has a compatible chipset for Pentium 4 processors. I'm not too familiar with Pentium chipsets so I won't recommend any. As for motherboard manufacturers I like Abit and Asus.
