HI!
It is the end of the year now and so I am done playing with hardware this year.

Here are my currect system's results. Air Cooled!!!

Northwood 3.06Ghz with HT with Asus P4G8X (nothing overclocked)

Northwood 3.06Ghz @ 3.59Ghz with HT with Asus P4G8X

This was the max the system was stable with HT and the CPU overclocked.

I then disabled HT and then I was able to overclock slightly higher.

Northwood 3.06Ghz @ 3.63Ghz without HT with Asus P4G8X

What do you guys think of these results? How about my Single hard disk SCSI drive performance? Should I try SCSI Raid?

Regards,
Manoj Mahtani

Nice....Can you post fsb and what the memory speed is?? Maybe some sandra mem scores would be nice as well....

What vcore did you go up to???

Very nice overclock :D but I think you'd best lay off the vcore unless you want your expensive new CPU to fall prey to SNDS (Sudden Northwood Death Syndrome) 1.7v is considered the max. save vcore. I'm gonna venture a guess that you could still hit around 3.5GHz on 1.7v.

Trust me, Granite Bay is not all that what we thought it would be.

I am not all the impressed. We are better of using the INtel 845PE motherboard which costs half as much as the Granite Bay and you don't even need to buy two sticks of rams.

I have 2 sticks of 512megs Corsair XMS 3500 CAS2.

if you dont want that board ~ ill trade you an ABIT BE7 + cash right now! :Q

Granite Bay is for 166+fsb overclockers ~ i845pe only goes to 167fsb :(

No I am going to keep this one.

I have so many people asking me to selling them my board.

I will not.

I know that the retail board will be selling for $250. At least that is the price that we are told here in Hong Kong.

hey while ive got your attention...

how well does the voltage regulation hold up?

example:
bios setting= idle / load ?
1.525v= 1.525v / 1.480v ?

Hey Riptor....Lets start seeing more sites racking up the fsb up to 166 and 200fsb and we will see the best platform for any p4 right now!!!! The multiplier is too high on the 3.06ghz so the fsb was not that much in achieving a 3.63ghz....I think you only got to 157-158....

The real thing I am not impressed with is the price and lack of boards out right now so ppl vcan buy them for xmas!!!

The voltages are nice.

IN the bios the CPU vcore is 1.55V (which is just accurate). The northwood 3.06ghz runs at 1.55V by the way.
However, the Asus PC Probe shows a reading of 1.63V sometimes and then drops to 1.56V and then goes back up to 1.61V or 1.63V.

I don't think it is all that bad. However, I think the Gigabyte 8INXP will be a better board.
