Only a dusting of snow this morning that was gone by midday. Storm isn't living up to the hype for those of us who are south of Seattle (at least so far). Forecast calls for up to 3 inches by morning. We'll see...

My family is in Olympia area and I think they had something like 6-8" last night, as far as I know they have power and everything. I suspect they won't be able to leave since they're out a bit in the suburbs and probably last priority for plowing.

Yeah, I measured the final tally based on the accumulation on my back deck table at 7.25".

Didn't lose power, but all the cables in our neighborhood are buried. Of course, that didn't stop half the neighborhood from losing power during the crazy wind a few weeks ago.

So far, here on the coast, we've gotten 2-3" of snow, and while the power has been out all over the region...including part of town, we're still good.

NOT venturing out of the house though. Temps are in the 20's and the roads are solid ice.

We got 5" early Sunday morning, then another dusting last night, in S. Seattle. Broke out the studded tires, as I had a morning outpatient surgery today (Monday) that I did not want to reschedule. Fortunately my orthopedist was the only one of 4 surgeons to show up to work today at that Kaiser unit.

Roads are icy, as the city owns few plows and it all packs down. But traffic volumes are very light.

Drove from vancouver to Snohomish today, 5 was better than I thought it would be. Highways were slightly more entertaining and some residential roads are straight snow. Driving back tomorrow so we'll see how it is.

That's about how it is here, other than the extra snow we have.
I put the studded tires on my partner's car at the beginning of November, so there's that in case we need to go out for something. Fortunately I bought a crap-ton of beer before my vacation started!

It's around 10F here just over the border in the Frasier Valley. It's been bitterly cold, but I'm working remotely in a warm house all day so no complaints other than having to go out to walk the dog.

I didn't realize you were now a South Sounder. I have been for years but I'm getting ready to make my departure to the peninsula.

Our snow is gone...for the most part. We had a bit of rain yesterday and last night...no mo sno. ( but, of course, when the temperature drops...the roads turn to ice...with the expected car crashes That come from stupid people driving stupidly until they hit a patch of black ice and....woooooohooooooo!

Much further south and I'd be an Oregonian. Have had thoughts of moving to the Olympic peninsula too (Sequim/Port Townsend) but too much inertia (mental and the sheer mass of our possessions).

Vancouver? Way too crowded for my liking.

That is what we are doing, and we have 16 months to de-clutter and start building the new home. We have the property now.

No, I figure that dead of winter is not the best timing. I got a call today from one of those land buyer outfits and gave them my price. I doubt I will hear back.
