Never seen them this bright before this is trippy. If you have no clouds and live north enough, go check!

I was already in bed and planing to get up early... lol. Just happened to get up for a pee and noticed the lights in the bathroom window.

I'm a bit jealous. Despite our travels I've not managed to see the Northern Lights yet

It is quite surreal to see in person too, like the way they move and stuff. Any time I catch them it's kind of a bad time though but there's one time I just stood outside for a good hour watching what was basically a crazy show in the sky.

I have an app on my phone to track the auroras...it went off this morning to let me know the auroras were happening...zero percent chance of seeing them in my location. :(

Very nice!

NASA has some really cool aurora shots too, but, being able to see it from the comfort of one's home is really quite amazing.

There is a chance I might see it in south central Wisconsin. I really hope so; it is one thing that is on my bucket list.

the first time I saw them it kinda freaked me out. yes i know what they were and was excited to acutally see the event. but man talk about making you feel like a speck in the universe. seeing blue/green "fire" roll weave and dance across the whole sky is amazing.

Sometime in the next few years whenever there's a KP 7+ we're doing a last second booking and flying out to see them. I don't care if it's $1000 per plane ticket - to those of us living further south it's a once in a lifetime thing. I think around 2025 is the peak of the cycle so I'm guessing it'll be around then.

What's crazy is when you're just sitting around the camp fire drinking and start to see them. At first it's sometimes just a single beam in the sky that's moving, and it's like "is that the alcohol or am I seeing that?".

I think my favourite time was a few years back I drove down the highway to get out of light pollution and found a nice spot to pull over. I must have been there a good hour just watching them and taking pictures, they got super intense.
