Thats just damn cold...and hella hard to get out of bed this morning...

it's in the 30s here. perfect wintery temp, enough to keep the snow from melting. 🙂

but no, i don't like the temps in the teens or lower either.

I'm only happy if it's under 70. Above that depression sets in, mood swings, anger, etc. I'm perfectly comfortable in shorts as long as it's above 40. I tend not to really notice the cold until it gets under 20. I've never been in sub-zero so I can't talk about that.

i've lived in PA all my life (26 years) and i'm still not used to it. I hate extremely cold weather and I hate extremely hot weather.

I live way up in the Upper Pen. of MI and I still hate the cold. Having your snot sorta freeze when you breathe in through your nose kinda sucks.

12F with a "realfeel" of -11f isn't bad.

It isn't quite shorts and a t-shirt weather, but it's not cold enough for me to be uncomfortable with regular shoes, jeans, and a heavy jacket.

Drop the temperature about 20 to 30 more degrees, and then a hat and gloves are mandatory, and drop it another 20 to 30 more degrees, then another layer or two is necessary

Drop it any more below that, however, and to be comfortable it takes thick mittens, long underwear, full snomobile suit, scarf, hat, blablabla ...

I'd prefer for the temperature to stay above -20, or for the "realFeel" to stay above -40. With a few layers on, and a hat and gloves, as well as a decent pair of boots, then I can get pretty comfortable. Any colder than that, and I just don't have the gear to be comfortable.

i love it. it is 17 degrees in indy today and i'm still only wearing a fleece. i hate it when it is really windy out though. the breeze seems to travel up my pant leg and...you get the idea. needs more snow here though.

I love the cold... 40F? shorts & teeshirt weather... and when it gets above 60F... its time for air conditioning!!

This man speaks the truth. I remember my highschool not closing, even when (with windchill) it was -30 ish outside.

I'd be happy if the temp never went above 73. It's kind of funny because in fall, when it hits 40 you kind of wear a jacket and you're fine. By the time you get through winter and 0 degrees, when it hits 40 again in spring people are out in t-shirts again because hey, that's warm.

Seriously. Where I sent to school the campus was seperated by a river, so you'd have to cross a footbridge. The river acted as a windtunnel and at the apex of the footbridge it would be as cold as -40F real feel. For that reason I developed my PUPs strategy. Pants-under-pants. You don't change out of your sleeping clothes, you simply put your normal clothes on over them.

I was just biking around in the twin cities... it is 16*F temps combined w/ 15mph gusts, 7 mph continious. Hell yes. THis is the best of weather.

Just don't ever crank up the thermostat and your body will adjust quickly. Let your body do what is natural, and it won't bother you. Heck, after a while you'll think 50°F is a warm, balmy day for shorts and a T-shirt. Of course, as soon as 100°F summers come again, you'll lose that ability and have to restart next winter.

So, yes, you do get used to it, IF you let yourself get used to it.

When I was a kid my family moved from Alabama to Michigan. We made it to Michigan on New Year's Eve and the wind chill was something like -20 degrees F. I almost swore in front of my parents when I stepped out of the van.

After a couple of years of that I got used to it. We moved to Corpus Christi, TX and people there thought I was crazy when I'd wear t-shirts during the winter down there.

Yep, it's just something that happens every year...I love the cold, assuming I'm not stranded out in it for a very long time.

Well this is what it should be, unlike Friday where we were sitting at 70 degrees in the morning. Granted, 18's a little low and it's hella cold, especially with the wind, but at least I have the peace of mind of normality. 😛
