Northeastern Ohio Flooding (Disaster Area)

We could use the rain here in Kansas. I'm struggling to keep my lawn alive and I water every other night. 🙁

Where I am has been pretty much unharmed, but a lot of surrounding areas have been stomped. It actually just finished raining fairly hard here, like we need any more rain.

good stuff, ill just go and get some good old seafood soon.

i live in that area :

friends have had as much of 24 inches of rain in their basements... and im not even in the worst part of the disaster zone!

Our power is getting completely owned. Yesterday saw a 2-hour power outage in the middle of raging heat, and today saw a 1-hour outage in the middle of fair weather. We had a bunch of rain last week, though, and from the looks of it, we're gonna get some more...

<- 30 minutes west of cleveland

Yeah they do. I live a couple minutes away from there. The canal has been fairly high this year, probably close to overflowing if it hasn't already done so. Foot's farm was flooded pretty bad when this started a few weeks ago. They probably got hit again.

lol...I worked @ Foot's when I was a kid. I grew up on Murray Rd🙂

There use to be nothing down there...Now all the area around Sweet Valley has been built up and Foot's is the low spot...

I live 10 minutes out of the area that is mostly trashed. We had 10" of rain in a matter of a day, no damage whatsoever. But obviously Fairport, Painesville, and parts of Concord were hammered.

You aren't kidding. If you get the chance, stop by Hoggy's, real barbecue and nice and greasy. On a related note, years ago my grandfather wanted to buy a bunch of land where the Cinemark is. None of the family believed him that that area would be a good investment. Man were they wrong. 🙁

Yeah, I've been to Hoggy's and all them joints in that area...still have lots of friends in area...

I'm right up the hill in Parma

See, this is what your precious American SUVs are doing to the planet. Global warming FTL!!!

funny thing is that i saw more SUV/Trucks in NC than i did in Ohio...

like they ever get snow/ice.

anyways, there were some flash flood warnings in my area today, but i didnt see any rain.

Got to work on time in Eastlake on Friday, though a few of my routes were blocked. Spent the first hour mopping. My screened-in porch was a tad soggy. That evening I managed to secure a new wet-dry vac from Sears against all odds. Still drying it today with a box fan, but I'm not complaining! Those pictures tell the story of why. Most people had no flood insurance. For some reason you can't buy it, though I still don't understand why. 😕

What a tard. First of all, There's no consensus on global warming, and secondly, there is as much or more fuel being used by economy cars for insanely long commutes, to the greenie inhabited urban areas!
