Northbrigdge heat sink

The heatsink on my Abit BH7 fell off. I have no clue as to when it popped off and how long its been sitting like that. I was going to RMA it but I lost my invoice from Googlegear and I can't seem to find the serial number on the motherboard. I'm leaning towards getting some Artic Silver Epoxy to reattach the heatsink. There is still some of the paste/tape that is still on the northbridge. What is the safest way to remove it? Does anyone have any ideas if its safe to run the system without the heatsink? Thanks.

Yeah thats a common problem on Abit P4 boards... clean it off with Goo Off or alcohol... then use the epoxy if you want... you can even get a passive Zalman NB heatsink... but don't run it without one. 🙂
