What can I do to put a cooling fan on my A7A266 Northbridge. What type of fan do I need, and where can i get it.

Thanks

Take the stock HSF off, and check whether there is paste between. Even Arctic Silver 2 component is better than nothing. If ot is glued, put the board in the freezer for 30 minutes.

I put a Blue Orb on the NB of my A7M266. But if you have a Epox 8K7A or the Giga GA 7DXR, unfortunately, it will not fit because of the capacitors around. Or more simple you can just ex-change the fan with a stronger one. The stock fans are all at not more than 2000 or 3000 rpm.

I think it's a 40 mm fan you need, but it's difficult to fix the fan on the heatsink. you better get a HSF combo, and then glue with 2 component Arctic Silver the new combo on the NB.

Actually, you sure you need this? There are some boards which do not need anything on the NB.

but then, I think a Blue orb is the best you can do! it cools good, runs ate more than 7000 rpm, and ot looks cool! it's also not too expesnive. Do you have the 2 holes around the Northbridge? If you are lucky, the 2 pins of the Bue Orb fit in exactly!!
