Northbridge heat my problem??? E6300 DS3 overclock

I am running at 430x7 right now. 20 hours orthos stable. I get freeze up or restart at 445x7.

I tried it at 445x6 get same problem. Tried all sorts of different settings,Tried running 380x7 with memory multipler at 2.5 ran fine. So memory isn't a problem. Tried raising mCH voltage that did nothing.

Only time I can run at 445 for more than a couple seconds is once the computer has been off for a while. So I think it's due to the northbridge getting too hot for the speed. Right now I have a small fan superguled onto the northbridge heatsink. What would be a good way to test out what I would need to see for sure if it's heat that is causing the problem and not costing much or anything.

The northbridge temp could be checked with non contact thermometerLike this. But you may be as far as it will go! You are in the area where how much more than a 50% OC do you expect? Every processer/Mobo combo has an upper limit. It can be about luck of the draw one set may get 500 FSB but another set of theroreticly identical parts may ony work at 450 FSB. Every chip off the die can vary and as I understand it a E6300 and E6400 may be off the same die just at different ends of the manufacturing tolerances.
