Northbridge fan died (no surprise)

I have an Antec P160 case (no side fan). Would passive cooling be as good as another small, horrid northbridge fan? I can no longer OC my mobile athlon xp anymore without my system bluescreening, and it's getting pretty annoying.

Also, what would work well either way?
 
Go here, and click the "Northbridge Chipsets" link on the left side. The NB47J is a really popular one and is thought highly of around here.

When I needed a Socket A mobo awhile back, my choice came down to either an Asus A7N8X or your board (the NF7). One of the reasons I chose the Asus was exactly what you're experiencing. I did not wanna deal with a dead northbridge fan a couple years down the road.

I don't need a northbridge fan, but if I did, that Zalman would be the ticket. Replace your fan with that and never worry about it again. 😎
