For folks in the know
I have booked a family suite for ten nights the cabanna shores hotel
It will be me, the wife and our five year old daughter.

What is is the area to do?
Any good fishing spots?

Any info on the area is welcome
Thanks

Go here and order the free Visitor's guide. Here's the site for Myrtle Beach itself and they also will send you a free Visitor's guide.

Calabash, NC (right over the NC/SC line) has a bunch of good restaurants with all-you-can-eat buffets. It's about 15 minutes from N. Myrtle Beach straight up Rt. 17.

Beware that the traffic in Myrtle Beach is horrendous on Rt. 17. They've built a bypass which is now almost as busy. Now they are building a bypass to the bypass. That doesn't mean avoid it, just remember to allow time if you need to be somewhere at a particular time.

Your hotel looks to be more in Myrtle Beach than North Myrtle Beach. No big difference except you'll see heavier traffic on Rt. 17.

Woowoo I am curious as to why you would book a ten day stay at a place you know nothing about without having done the research beforehand. What if you found out there was nothing to do (which I know is not the case in this particular locale)? Just asking...

Yes, we have place in North Myrtle Beach.

And I was just gonna say what kranky said. Yeah, just hit up the calabash area, and barefoot landing for shopping/other resteraunts.

I have done quite a bit of research.
Resorts, condos, and hotels
I was just looking for "Local" input.

Nothing to do would be fine with me
(More time for fishing)
But I guess the wife would get bored......

Fair enough! As I said I was merely curious. I hope you have a great time!

You're welcome. I have to be extra helpful these days since the mods said my Elite status is up for renewal. Still waiting to hear where I'm supposed to ship the hot tub.

We visit the Myrtle Beach area a couple times a year. Theres alot of shopping like Waccamaw, Tanger outlets, Barefoot landing, Broadway at the beach. At night theres dinner shows. If you want some seafood we like to go to Surfside and eat at Crabby Mikes and theres a few more good ones at Merils Inlet. And of course theres the beach, just watch out for sharks! There are a ton of golf courses, putt putt places, and go cart tracks. And theres also a few gentlemens clubs ;).
Be sure to pick up all the coupon books when you get there. I beleive if you do some research you can have some sent to you before you leave.

Hope you have fun.
