SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea's authoritarian leader Kim Jong Il is suffering from pancreatic cancer and is not expected to live more than five years, a news report said Monday, the latest speculation to emerge about his health after he reportedly suffered a stroke last year.

Hmm. Steve Jobs better outlive him. I believe it's a 5% chance of survival after 5 years.

Kim Jong Il needs to die. Even the media is typing Il now. Regime change is a certainty, but not guaranteed to be a good thing.

Our OP notes, "Hmm. Steve Jobs better outlive him. I believe it's a 5% chance of survival after 5 years."

Why is it that I suspect its been more than a few years from initial diagnosis to where Kim is now? His 5% survival chance is now probably down to a year or two, as he has gone from a well nurtured human male to a positively skinny wretched looking one. One or two years and he is almost certain to be pushing up daisies. And maybe we are talking just months.

My comment is that some people improve the human race with their lives, with Kim, I suspect he will only improve the human condition with his death. Ya I know, cheer up, things could get worse, but at least there is cause for some optimism.

Dear Leader cannot die. His earthly body is meaningless and when it dies he will continue on in a successor's body.

I thought Little Kim was just a boogie monster conjured up by Bush? Why are we wishing death upon someone as harmless as him?

JFC do you do anything but troll?

1) I think you confused Little Kim with pre-war Iraq
2) I think most people here are talking about LK's passing benefiting NK - not us.

We will finally have a death thread where we can all celebrate and not worry about offending anyone. (I hope)
