Sorry about that. 😉

BTW, I do not wish ill will on any people.

I fully support using my tax dollars to help feed North Koreans...

BUT!!!

(and that but is imporant)

Only after removing the current goverment and installing a pro-democracy government.

Ditto with Iraq and Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Hopper

I am starting to wonder why we disagree so much... hrm... could it be your pretentios superiority? and yeah, you will get a 😀 this time... 😉

Iraq is an enemy of the Al-Queda network, and if you would have done your homework, you would have known that...

No rouge country with powerful weapons... are you kidding me?
No, I'm not...

No rouge countries with powerful weapons, the decision has been made, the wars are coming, everyone knows it, that is why North Korea is doing what they are doing.

This isn't rocket science you know... (no pun intended)

Hopper

I think you mean "rogue" countries. "Rouge countries" would be like France or maybe San Francisco.

so you claim, yet, where is the gas coming from? Shell, i thought that was american company... silly me...
no, royal dutch is european.

Shell is a company that distributes oil through america....

Shell is a multinational company which is, at it's basis, Dutch and which distributes oil products throughout the world through local companies around the world. Much like British Petroleum, Elf (French) and other companies. This "American companies want to control oil" myth is a convenient explanation but, in reality, the multinational energy companies are fairly independent of governmental policy control, as witnessed by the ease at which Iraq has been selling smuggled oil.

This thread is beginning to lose track, but the shipments to North Korea are heavy fuel oil, paid for by the US and, at least for recent shipments, shipped from Singapore. I believe the source is Indonesian but I'm not sure what specific companies are involved.

Then they said that a war against the US was inevitable, they have nukes, a war is inevitable to them... that SHOULD scare you... if it does not, it's because you do not get the point...

Sigh...

Airborne Lasers
ABM Intercepters

I place my faith in technology, with enough of it, we can build a shield around ourselves and our allies and defend against the dozen or two missiles that North Korea could launch.

Nukes only hurt if they reach their target, so the goal then becomes to prevent that from happening.

Hopper

North Korea has a great deal of artillery pointed straight at Seoul. They wouldn't need to use nukes to cause serious casualties and damage.

I think china's army is a little over rated, they may have millions of troops, but how many are forced to serve?, not to mention the US could cripple China's economy in a matter of weeks, by banning all imports from that country, granted it would also be very harmful to us, it would be more so for them

I doubt that many americans would go for we when you are part of it...
Don't be silly, you are not here...

The average American Joe on the street supports Bush and thinks we should attack now while we have a chance. Bush is holding back actually from what most American's want.

Hopper

The average American Joe just wants to be free to work his job, earn a living for his family, and come home at night to a safe home.

I doubt most Americans understand or care why we have troops stationed in six continents.

Slightly more than 50% of the average Joe..not all 100%

Do you remember the % by which G Dumb Bush won ?

China has thought about this more than us here.

SO I think they know what they lose/gain from a confrontation with US.

All I say is that this is WWIII .... real close to it perhaps if China is drawn into this

The truth is most americans want to be superior, that is it...
Most American's already believe they are superior, we have the best country in the world, everyone wants to come here, why not?

We spend 40% of the entire planet's military budget, we're the wealthiest nation on Earth by several times over, we invent half of all new technology in the world.

I think we have earned the right to feel superior to most other nations...

Hopper

How much of all this have you been a part of ?

None I guess ... so let those americans who have, speak about it .. not the average joes.

Britain said the same thing 100 years ago, and Chinese people will probably say the same thing in a 100 years. Things come and go. Except arrogance of course. 😛

America wont ever have a land war with China. What would come out of it? It would throw Asia in chaos, cripple the world economy, and cost a lot of lifes on both sides.

While I understand you come here so often because you enjoy controversy, yours posts suggest that if you had been born in Germany, Hitler would be your idol. A proud member of the Master Race. I have been restrained in my dialogue with you, but this may not continue. I would suggest the reason people in other countries fear the US is not because of their leadership, but because of attitudes like yours. Indeed, if it was genuine and representative of those of the US, I would start to lose sleep. England had it's Boar War, Germany had it's Nazi's, France tormented Dreyfus and it seems we are starting to go down the same road. Overconfidence and the the moral conviction that we should control the world and because we belong to the nation du jour. Oh yes lets make sure they have Democracy and American values. What if they do not want them? Oh they must because look how glamorous our peacock feathers are. Everyone wants to be peacocks like us. Well no not everyone here is a peacock. You are a turkey. I am sure we can kill off most if not most of the world, and there are people in this country who believe that if they can't have everyone live according to the dictums of our State, they need to die. I am beginning to think you are one of those who consider the rest of the world better off dead if they do not conform to your standard. Right now the only real, substantial threat of war comes not from Saddam, not from Bin Laden, not even NK, but from George Bush and you. BTW- not that you care but I voted for Bush and will not do so again. You and Bush will hunt Moby Dick if it wrecks the Ship and kills the crew. Most of the crew sides with our Ahab, so whatever fate they get they deserve. I was part of a country that loved freedom. We made mistakes in my generation, but world domination as you support it was not on the agenda. I miss that country that so many died for.
